About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Infrastructure Engineer to join our Newcastle Office. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated Civil Engineering experience within a consultancy environment. You will work in one of the UK’s leading private Engineering Consultancies, providing integrated solutions for a range of clients.

• Degree qualified with relevant experience in a similar practice.
• Chartered (or near Chartered) status with a recognised institution, e.g., ICE.
• Ability to liaise with architects, clients, and other professionals, representing the practice professionally.
• Manage projects, support, mentor, and guide less experienced colleagues.
• Client-facing role, capable of representing the company externally at a senior level, managing workload and multiple projects.
• Check calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports in accordance with operational procedures.
• Excellent communication skills; capable of managing design teams internally and externally.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and self-motivation.
• Experience in all development sectors, especially highway and drainage design, with knowledge of UK standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autotrack Site 3D, MicroDrainage, Flow, or other civil engineering software.
• Conduct site visits, monitor work progress, and address issues with contractors and clients.
• Knowledge of Highway Authority Sections 38 and 278, Water Authority Sections 102, 104, 106, 116, and 185 Agreements.
• Ability to produce supporting reports for planning applications, such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Full clean driving license.
• Ambition to grow within the company, including representing Fairhurst externally.
