About the Role - We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Infrastructure Engineer to join the Newcastle Office. This role is ideal for candidates with demonstrated Civil Engineering experience within a consultancy environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in one of the UK’s leading private Engineering Consultancies, providing integrated solutions for a range of public and private clients.

• Degree qualified with relevant experience in a similar practice.
• A chartered (or near Chartered) status with a recognised institution, e.g., ICE.
• Liaise with architects, clients, and other professionals, representing the practice professionally and courteously.
• Manage projects, providing support, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
• Client-facing Engineer capable of representing the Company externally at a senior level, managing workload, and overseeing multiple projects.
• Check calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports produced by others, in accordance with operational procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of managing design teams internally and externally.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork qualities and self-motivation.
• Experience across all development sectors.
• Experience in highway and drainage design, with knowledge of UK design standards, and ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autotrack Site 3D, MicroDrainage, Flow, or other civil engineering software for designing highway and drainage infrastructure.
• Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, identify issues, and coordinate with contractors and clients.
• Knowledge of Highway Authority Sections 38 and 278 Agreements, and Water Authority Sections 102, 104, 106, 116, and 185 Agreements.
• Ability to produce engineering reports for planning applications, including Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and Site Viability Assessments.
• Full clean driving license.
• Ambition to grow within the company, including representing Fairhurst at external events.
