Job summary

Search Consultancy LTD is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major construction and infrastructure project in Scotland. You will assist the senior project team with implementing the engineering strategy and provide technical support to site teams to ensure works meet design, quality and project requirements.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to read drawings, and experience on construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the senior project team with the implementation of the project engineering strategy.

• Monitor engineering works to ensure delivery in line with design specifications and standards.
• Identify and address technical, quality, safety and delivery issues.
• Support project audits, assurance activities and technical meetings.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Assist with procurement, material control and procurement schedules.
• Support preparation of progress and productivity reports.
• Provide technical feedback on project performance where required.
• Ensure quality control and assurance processes are implemented.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major construction and infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will support the senior project team with the implementation of the engineering strategy, providing technical support to site teams and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with design, quality and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the senior project team with the implementation of the project engineering strategy.
• Provide technical support to project delivery teams and verify completed works.
• Manage and coordinate materials, plant and labour within allocated resources.
• Ensure design information, engineering procedures and quality requirements are effectively communicated to site teams.
• Monitor engineering works to ensure they are delivered in accordance with design specifications and relevant standards.
• Identify and address technical, quality, safety and delivery issues.
• Support project audits, assurance activities and regular technical meetings.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with procurement, material control and procurement schedules.
• Support the preparation of accurate progress and productivity reports.
• Provide technical feedback on project performance where required.
• Ensure appropriate quality control and assurance processes are implemented.
• Consider site conditions, constraints, CDM requirements and other statutory regulations throughout project delivery.
• Utilise relevant digital engineering tools and technologies to support project execution.
• Promote a strong safety culture and maintain a focus on Zero Harm.
• Support continuous improvement and engineering best practice across the project.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within construction, infrastructure or a related sector.
• Strong technical engineering knowledge and understanding of industry best practice.
• Relevant engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC or degree-level qualification.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Previous experience supporting or managing engineering activities on construction projects.
• Strong understanding of technical issues and construction methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
• Good understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with project teams, clients, consultants and suppliers.
• Ability to work under pressure and identify issues requiring immediate action.
• Understanding of BIM and the ability to interpret BIM models is desirable.
