Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is recruiting a Site Engineer for a leading UK contractor based in London. The role focuses on setting out for groundworks, foundations and RC frames, with responsibilities including QA, as-built surveys, and liaising with design teams and subcontractors.

Candidate should have experience with Leica/Trimble surveying equipment, AutoCAD, and a valid UK driving license. SMSTS/SSSTS desirable; health and safety standards are a priority on site.

Qualifications

• Experience as Setting Out Engineer for Groundworks/RC frame or Civil contractor.
• Proficient with Leica/Trimble surveying equipment and GPS.
• Experience using AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings.
• Knowledge of QA procedures, as-built surveys and site documentation.

• Maintain site control points and survey data.

• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out QA/QC inspections and document results.
• Raise and manage RFIs as needed.

• Promote high health and safety standards on site.

We are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join one of our well-established clients in London.

Our client is a leading UK-based contractor specializing in Heavy Civils, RC Frames, and Groundworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations, RC frames and associated infrastructure.
• Establishing and maintaining site control points and survey data.
• Producing and maintaining accurate as-built surveys and records.
• Interpreting and checking engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out QA/QC inspections and completing quality documentation.
• Raising and managing RFIs where required.
• Monitoring tolerances and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
• Liaising with subcontractors, site managers and design teams.
• Assisting with site planning and engineering problem solving.
• Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety on site.

Skills & Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer for a Groundworks, RC Frame or Civil Engineering contractor.
• Strong knowledge of foundations, drainage, external works and reinforced concrete structures.
• Competent using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment and GPS.
• Experience using AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures, as-built surveys and site documentation.
• SMSTS or SSSTS (Desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
