Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a growing project team delivering major infrastructure and civil engineering schemes across the UK. The role focuses on setting out, surveying, quality checks, and coordinating site activities to ensure projects are completed safely and on time.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in a Site Engineer position, CSCS cards, and a solid civil engineering background across highways, rail, utilities or drainage sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Site Engineer
• Experience delivering infrastructure and civil engineering projects
• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Valid CSCS card
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of infrastructure and civil engineering works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting out and surveying works on site
• Managing quality assurance and completing ITPs
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Coordinating subcontractors and site teams
• Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
• Supporting site management with planning and programme delivery
• Promoting a strong health & safety culture on site

About You

We're looking for candidates who have:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Site Engineer
• Proven experience delivering infrastructure and civil engineering projects
• Experience in one or more of the following sectors:
  • Highways
  • Rail
  • Utilities
  • Water
  • Earthworks
  • Drainage
  • Structures
• Strong setting out and surveying capabilities
• A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Valid CSCS card
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
