Qualifications

• Demonstrable passion for service design and user-centred design principles.
• Ability to run workshops and facilitate cross-disciplinary discussions.
• Experience interpreting user research to inform design decisions.
• Comfort communicating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, developing, and using best practice and standards to design services consistent with the rest of government
• Advocating for users and understanding user needs to design simple, accessible services
• Creating service maps, blueprints, and other design concepts
• Mapping user journeys and processes to surface design problems
• Articulating and solving complex end-to-end problems
• Communicating concepts to users and stakeholders
• Promoting persuasive storytelling to sell ideas
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to research
• Advocating for user-centred design within the Methods SD community
• Supporting learning and development within the SD team
• Mentoring junior team members and providing guidance
• Supporting hiring and training initiatives within the SD community
• Bid support to Head of SD and Deputy Director of UCD
