Job summary

UK Home Office is seeking a senior service designer to support and protect communities by delivering better digital services. You will work in an agile, multi-disciplinary team within the Digital Corporate Enablement Office (DCEO).

Your designs will improve internal tools, GOV.UK content, and enterprise services across the organisation. You will lead service design efforts, mentor juniors, and collaborate with stakeholders to advance user-centred design and accessible solutions in a hybrid work

Qualifications

Leads service design for complex projects across front-stage and back-stage elements.
Prototyping and concept creation for high-impact projects, including interactive coding techniques.
Leads service analysis to identify opportunities for improvements and coaches juniors.
Applies accessibility standards in work and understands inclusive design concepts.
Manages a small team, providing coaching and feedback to ensure delivery.
Engages with multiple stakeholders, tailoring messages to audiences and advocating UCD principles.

Responsibilities

Lead service design efforts for complex projects, coordinating people, process and technology.
Mentor junior team members in service design methods and practices.
Oversee prototyping and concept creation for high-impact initiatives.
Ensure accessibility and inclusive design considerations are integrated.
Manage a small team and provide coaching and feedback.
Communicate persuasively with stakeholders to defend UCD approaches.
