Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Senior Service Design Lead to drive service design across major transformation programmes within the Strategy & Communities Change Team. You will shape future services, working with residents, service teams and stakeholders to ensure inclusive, evidence-based outcomes.

You'll lead discovery through to implementation, champion user-centred design, and help build design capability across the council for sustainable, value-for-money improvements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading service design within complex organisations.
• Proven ability to redesign services to improve resident outcomes and value for money.
• Expertise across the service design lifecycle from discovery to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead service design activity across major transformation programmes.
• Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions with stakeholders.
• Develop future service models, journeys and operating processes.
• Translate research and data into practical service improvements.
• Support teams to implement redesigned processes and new ways of working.
• Build design capability across the council.
