Job summary

Wickersley Partnership Trust seeks an inspirational Assistant Headteacher - SENDCO at Rawmarsh Sandhill Primary School to drive inclusive provision and high-quality teaching. You will shape strategic SEND direction, model adaptive teaching, and lead on EHCP processes while working closely with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team.

You will empower staff through coaching, monitor progress, and build strong partnerships with parents and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives

Qualifications

• QTS holder with leadership track record in primary settings.
• NASENCO or NPQ SENDCo, or willingness to complete within timescales.
• Significant middle or senior leadership experience in primary.
• Proven ability to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND.
• Deep knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Experience coaching colleagues to deliver adaptive teaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND policy and provision in line with SEND Code of Practice.
• Support SDP development, recruitment, operations, and health & safety.
• Model adaptive teaching and co-teach to support inclusion.
• Lead on portfolios like SEND strategy, Student Council, and safeguarding links.
• Monitor teaching quality and SEND data; drive intervention impact.
• Develop staff through INSET and professional development.
• Build partnerships with parents, carers, and external services.
• Report SEND provision and compliance to SLT and Governing Board.
