Job summary

Rawmarsh Sandhill Primary School in England seeks an Assistant Headteacher - SENDCO to join the Senior Leadership Team and shape inclusive practice across the school. You will lead SEND strategy, oversee EHCP processes, coach staff, and drive high-quality teaching and learning while modelling The School Way.

You will work closely with the Headteacher, governors, and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives exceptional support.

Qualifications

• QTS required and eligible for leadership deployment.
• Degree of senior leadership experience in primary setting is expected.
• Proven ability to coach staff and improve outcomes for pupils with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND strategy and provision in line with SEND Code of Practice.
• Coordinate EHCP applications and reviews; liaise with external agencies.
• Contribute to SDP, recruit and manage operational aspects of school leadership.
• Model adaptive teaching and coach colleagues to deliver inclusive practice.
• Oversee Student Council, safeguarding links, and careers education.
• Report to SLT and Governing Board on SEND outcomes and compliance.
