Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Kidderminster, commencing September 2026. This full-time role offers the chance to support pupils with SEN across the primary age range.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils access the mainstream curriculum and work with the school’s SEN team to implement learning plans. The ideal candidate is patient, caring and committed to helping each child thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a primary setting.
• Patience, empathy and a proactive approach to learning.
• Ability to follow individual plans and work with the SEN team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist pupils to access the mainstream curriculum.
• Support children with a range of additional needs.
• Support learning, social and emotional development.
• Build confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
• Follow individual learning plans and strategies.
• Support positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCO and school team.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
