Job summary

Smile Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child returning to school on a full-time basis from the Autumn Term. Based in Wolverhampton, the role is part-time with potential to continue until July 2027, offering consistency for the pupil and the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate will have recent 1:1 experience with additional needs, a TA/Childcare qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable), and the ability to work independently within a classroom

Qualifications

• Recent experience providing 1:1 support to a child with additional needs.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable).
• Experience supporting children with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with highly complex needs.
• Deliver engaging, tailored activities to support learning and development.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and multidisciplinary team.
• Support the child’s emotional, educational and physical wellbeing throughout the day.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Deliver medical care following specialist training.
