Job summary

Smile Education are recruiting a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Kidderminster, starting September 2026. You will support pupils with SEN across the primary age range.

The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access the curriculum, and promoting positive behaviour, confidence and development. Previous SEN experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN within a school or similar setting.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils to access the mainstream curriculum.
• Support children with a range of additional needs.
• Help pupils with learning, social and emotional development.
• Build confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
• Follow individual support strategies and learning plans.
• Support positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider school team.
• Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.
