Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants and SEN Teaching Assistants to work across welcoming primary and SEN schools in Bromsgrove, Worcester and Redditch, starting September 2026. Roles include full-time and part-time positions across mainstream and specialist SEN settings.

We welcome experienced TAs, SEN specialists, graduates, and those with transferable childcare experience. A DBS check and safeguarding commitments apply as part of our recruitment process.

Qualifications

• We are keen to hear from candidates with experience as teaching assistants, SEN teaching assistants, learning support assistants, HLTA, nursery practitioners, behaviour support workers, youth workers, support workers, or graduates interested in education.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom alongside the class teacher.
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
• Run small group activities to support learning.
• Assist pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs as required.

Depending on the school and your experience, you could be supporting pupils:

• In the classroom alongside the class teacher.
• On a 1:1 basis.
• In small groups.
• With additional learning needs.
• With social, emotional and behavioural needs.

• With complex or additional needs within specialist settings.
• To develop their confidence, independence and engagement in learning.You will play an important role in helping children access education, overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
