Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment - Sheffield is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe and complex needs. This is a full-time, term-time role offering 1:1 or small-group support within a specialist SEN setting.

You will assist with learning, communication and development, helping children regulate emotions and build independence, while collaborating with teachers and therapists. Pay ranges £100-£125 per day, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with children or young people with severe, profound or complex SEN.
• Experience in a specialist SEN school, care setting or similar environment.
• Calm, nurturing and caring approach.
• Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Resilience required to work with pupils needing high levels of support.
• Experience supporting children with complex autism, SLD, PMLD or challenging behaviour (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with severe SEN.
• Support pupils' learning, communication and development.
• Provide a calm, nurturing presence throughout the school day.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviours of concern.
• Support pupils to develop independence and confidence.
• Assist with personal care where required and follow individual plans.
