Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are partnering with a specialist SEN school in Chesterfield to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with complex needs 1:1 and in small groups, helping learning, independence and emotional regulation throughout the day.

The role requires resilience and a calm, patient approach to challenging behaviours. Full-time, term-time hours within a dedicated SEN environment are offered with ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience in specialist SEN or complex needs settings.
• Ability to support pupils with challenging behaviour and communication needs.
• Resilience, patience and genuine commitment to pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEN.
• Help pupils engage with learning and develop independence.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and collaborate with staff.
• Follow individual education and support plans.
