Job summary

Hyperexponential in London is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join as the second security hire. You’ll own security tooling, run security reviews, and partner with product and engineering teams to build secure systems across our multi-product platform.

You’ll tackle cloud and container security, apply AI-secure practices, and help shape how security works in a fast-moving, AI-driven environment. This role offers real autonomy and impact within hx’s security function.

Qualifications

• Experience in securing AWS cloud environments hands-on, including cloud security tooling.
• Experience securing containerised workloads and IaC.
• Experience with SAST, SCA, and secret scanning tools.
• Compliance experience (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) with technical controls.
• Practical use of AI to improve security and mitigate AI-specific risks.

Responsibilities

• Modify and extend security tooling across engineering and IT environments (CSPM, SAST, SCA, secret scanning).
• Identify gaps in cloud security and code; drive remediation with owning teams.
• Write code and infrastructure changes to fix security issues.
• Own security reviews end to end with engineering teams.
• Take ownership of a medium-sized security project within three months.
• Collaborate with IT on authentication, authorization and security hygiene.
• Guide teams on adopting AI securely and mitigating data leakage risks.
• Support ISO 27001, SOC 2 compliance by evidencing technical controls.
