Job summary

Hyperexponential is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to help shape security at scale within a fast‑growing, AI‑driven platform for insurers. You will build and own tooling, run security reviews end to end, and directly impact how security is integrated into product development.

You’ll work with a small, autonomous security team on high‑quality cloud and code security, with opportunities to influence AI safety, compliance, and incident response across multiple product streams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience securing AWS cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Modify, maintain, and extend our security tooling across engineering and IT environments (SAST, SCA, secret scanning).
• Identify gaps in cloud security, dependencies, and code; partner with teams to prioritise remediation.
• Write code and infrastructure changes to fix security issues and improve tooling.
• Own security reviews end to end with engineering teams and ensure follow-ups are resolved.
• Take ownership of a medium-sized security project within three months.
• Collaborate with IT on authentication, authorization, and security hygiene across corporate systems.
• Guide teams on securely adopting AI and mitigating AI-specific risks.
• Support ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance by evidencing controls.
• Act as a trusted voice for technical teams and manage security issue resolution.
