Job summary

Hiscox SA is seeking a Principal Platform Security Engineer in London to lead the maturing of platform security practices across innovation squads. This high-impact role will guide engineering teams using secure-by-design principles and ensure robust security controls in collaboration with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers.

Your responsibilities will include designing security controls, coordinating with engineering teams, and influencing architecture decisions. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in cloud platforms like Azure and GCP, along with strong leadership skills to mentor and improve security maturity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps/Platform Engineering.
• Full-stack application and infrastructure design experience.
• Working knowledge of security practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor chapter members in security practices.
• Design and automate security controls within SDLC.
• Respond to security threats and manage incident responses.
