Job summary

British Gypsum, part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland, is seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Analytical Team at the East Leake Innovation Centre. You will conduct analytical testing on gypsum-based materials and contribute to method development and technical projects.

The role combines hands-on laboratory work with data interpretation and clear reporting for internal customers. Collaboration across Saint-Gobain's global network is encouraged, with a focus on clear communication of findings

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
• Industrial hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (GC-MS, HPLC, TGA and/or DSC).
• Experience developing, validating or optimising analytical methods in industry.
• Strong data interpretation, report writing and problem-solving skills.
• Able to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

At British Gypsum, we're looking for a Senior Scientist to join our Analytical Team, helping to deliver high-quality analysis, innovation and technical expertise across our global business.

This role sits within our R&D team and offers the opportunity to become a specialist in analytical testing for gypsum-based products. Working with samples from across Saint-Gobain's global businesses, you'll combine hands-on laboratory analysis with method development and technical problem-solving, helping internal customers make informed decisions and drive product innovation. You'll be part of a highly skilled team recognised as a centre of excellence for gypsum analysis across the wider Saint-Gobain Group

What we're looking for
