British Gypsum, part of Saint-Gobain, seeks a Scientist to join its Analytical Team within R&D to develop expertise in gypsum-based materials through analytical testing.

You’ll conduct testing on gypsum board samples, operate XRF, XRD, GC-MS, HPLC, TGA and DSC, and prepare clear data-driven reports for internal customers and project teams.

Collaborating across global laboratories, you’ll support product development, innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or related discipline.
• Experience using analytical laboratory instrumentation (XRF, XRD, GC-MS, HPLC, TGA or DSC).
• Strong attention to detail and methodical lab work.
• Ability to analyse and interpret scientific data and report clearly.

Responsabilités

• Conduct analytical testing on gypsum board and related materials.
• Operate analytical instrumentation such as XRF, XRD, GC-MS, HPLC, TGA and DSC.
• Perform routine testing according to established methods and standards.
• Prepare samples, run experiments and generate high-quality data.
• Interpret results and produce clear technical reports.
• Communicate findings to internal customers with actionable recommendations.
• Support R&D and innovation projects across British Gypsum and Saint-Gobain.
