British Gypsum is seeking a Senior Scientist in Analytical Testing to join the East Leake Innovation Centre. The role combines hands-on laboratory analysis with method development to support product development and technical projects across our global operations.

You will work with GC-MS, HPLC, TGA and DSC instrumentation, develop robust analytical methods, interpret data, and communicate findings to stakeholders. The position is full-time and on-site with flexible working arrangements discussed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or Materials Science with industrial experience, or a PhD in a related field.
• Experience with GC-MS, HPLC, TGA and/or DSC in an industrial lab.
• Ability to develop, optimise or validate analytical methods in an industrial setting.
• Strong data interpretation, report writing and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Conduct analytical testing on gypsum board and related materials using advanced laboratory techniques.
• Develop and implement new analytical methods from concept to routine use for product development.
• Generate, interpret and communicate analytical data through technical reports and presentations for internal customers.
• Support R&D and innovation projects with high-quality scientific insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Saint-Gobain's global network to share expertise and best practices.
