Job summary

Humanoid is advancing humanoid robotics with a focus on measurable control quality across fleets. The Software Engineer will join the Control Team in London to translate qualitative control concerns into reproducible, automated metrics and to build CI/CD pipelines bridging simulation and hardware-in-the-loop.

The role emphasizes real robotics experience, strong engineering discipline, and the ability to inform the control engineers with reliable code-level measurements.

Qualifications

• Robotics experience on real systems and understanding of robot data, timing and synchronization.
• Strong Python, plus enough modern C++ to work inside a real-time control codebase.
• Built test automation, evaluation frameworks or benchmarking infrastructure for complex systems.
• Solid measurement and data analysis judgement: sampling, noise, statistical significance.
• Experience with robot middleware and data formats (ROS/ROS2) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement control quality metrics from robot data, simulation, and telemetry.
• Own metric definitions and versioning to compare today vs six months from now.
• Develop automated test harnesses for deterministic evaluation of control releases.
• Integrate control evaluation into CI/CD across simulation and hardware-in-the-loop.
• Build tooling for engineers to compare controller variants.
• Create per-robot and per-fleet test suites and track control quality over time.
• Develop dashboards for fleet-wide control health.
