Job summary

Humanoid in London is seeking a Robotics Simulation & Control Engineer to design and validate future generations of our humanoid platforms, including bipedal and wheeled systems, using physics simulation and reinforcement learning. You will own URDF models, maintain the CAD→URDF→simulation pipeline, and collaborate with mechanical, control, and perception teams to guide platform design decisions.

This role offers the opportunity to work with world-class engineers and directly influence hardware

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in robotics or closely related field.
• Strong foundation in robot kinematics and dynamics.
• Experience with robot simulation environments and RL in robotics.
• Experience with URDF or similar robot description formats.
• Strong Python and/or C++ programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate new robot platforms using physics simulation.
• Analyze workspace, manipulability, balance, and torque limits.
• Use reinforcement learning to stress-test designs.
• Own and maintain URDF models of robot platforms.
• Maintain the CAD → URDF → simulation pipeline.
• Develop tools and benchmarks for locomotion and manipulation.
• Provide quantitative feedback on actuators, joints, mass, and sensors.
• Collaborate with mechanical, control, and perception teams.
