Job summary

Wise is seeking a Risk Lead to join the Global Risk team to enable Wise Assets to meet its strategic objectives. This second-line role reports to the Head of Risk Product Governance and focuses on embedding risk frameworks across the product lifecycle while enabling growth across jurisdictions.

You will provide independent challenge, oversight and guidance on risk assessments, control design and remediation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial services, fintech, banking, wealth management, or investment environments.
• Experience with investment products, asset management, brokerage, or regulated investment firms a plus.
• Implemented or operated enterprise risk management frameworks in regulated financial services organizations.
• Strong understanding of non-financial risk management concepts (operational, regulatory, conduct, financial crime).
• Proven ability to provide independent challenge and escalation while maintaining stakeholder relationships.
• Experience assessing complex products and processes in fast-paced or scaling organizations.
• Strong analytical, data management and reporting skills; translate risk info into clear insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence at senior levels.
• Commercially minded; balance risk management with growth and customer outcomes.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Inquisitive mindset with strong interpersonal skills to understand product operation and evolving risks.
• Experience in global, cross-functional tech-driven, high-growth environments would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement and embed Wise's Enterprise Risk Management Framework across the Wise Assets product ecosystem.
• Coordinate with regional risk colleagues to apply risk practices across processes.
• Provide second line oversight on risk assessments, control design and residual risk decisions.
• Support product growth by reviewing new products and strategic initiatives with risk input.
• Apply ERMF methodologies (RCSAs) to map risks, controls and monitoring.
• Oversee control assurance activities and identify weaknesses or remediation needs.
• Own and coordinate issue management for Wise Assets with remediation tracking.
• Monitor key risk indicators and incidents to identify deteriorating risk exposures.
• Support risk training and awareness initiatives across Wise Assets.
• Produce high-quality risk reporting for governance committees and leaders.
• Report on risks outside appetite and escalate significant exposures.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of incidents and remediation progress.
• Consolidate risk insights across regions for enterprise reporting.
• Build relationships with Product, Compliance, Ops, Engineering, Legal, Audit and Regional teams.
