Job summary

Wise is seeking an experienced Senior Product Engineer to join the Risk & Control Governance team. You’ll help build governance, assurance, and data foundations that ensure every risk decision is consistent, explainable, auditable, and monitored.

You’ll work at the intersection of the Risk API platform with the Product and FinCrime teams, delivering scalable, trustworthy data pipelines and audit trails to support regulatory evidence generation.

Qualifications

• Strong Backend Engineering: data-intensive systems with high throughput.
• Data Engineering Aptitude: data quality frameworks, pipelines, lineage tracking.
• Systems Thinking: reason about distributed systems and failure modes.
• Ownership & Autonomy: operate with ambiguity and deliver end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Build Data Trust with contracts, lineage and quality monitoring.
• Deliver Continuous Assurance with automated monitoring for drift and coverage gaps.
• Enable Auditability with end-to-end audit trails and explainability tooling.
• Integrate governance capabilities into the Risk API platform.
