Job summary

Wise is seeking an experienced Senior Product Engineer to join the Risk & Control Governance team. You will help build governance, assurance, and data foundations that ensure risk decisions are consistent, auditable, and scalable.

This role sits at the intersection of the Risk API, Product, and FinCrime teams, delivering robust data trust, continuous assurance, and explainability tooling. You will influence the platform's trustworthiness from day one.

Qualifications

• Backend engineering experience building high-throughput, data-intensive systems.
• Experience with data quality frameworks, pipelines, or lineage tracking.
• Ability to reason about complex distributed systems and failure modes.
• Ownership and autonomy to drive delivery end-to-end.
• Collaborative across Risk API, Product, and FinCrime stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build data trust with data quality monitoring, contracts, and lineage tracking.
• Design automated monitoring to validate control effectiveness and detect drift.
• Create audit trails and explainability tooling for regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with the Risk API team to embed governance into the platform.
