Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join the Risk & Control Governance team, shaping governance, assurance, and data foundations for auditable risk decisions at scale. You will work across Risk API, Product, and FinCrime to embed governance into the platform and ensure trusted data drives every decision.

You will design high‑throughput systems, implement data quality and lineage, and build explainability tooling to support regulatory evidence generation and scalable risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience building high‑throughput, data‑intensive systems.
• Knowledge of data quality frameworks, pipelines, and lineage tracking.
• Ability to reason about distributed systems and failure modes.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and delivering end‑to‑end.

Responsibilities

• Build Data Trust with data contracts, lineage, and quality monitoring.
• Deliver Continuous Assurance by automated monitoring of control effectiveness.
• Enable Auditability with audit trails and explainability tooling.
• Integrate governance features with the Risk API and core platform.
