Job summary

WSP is seeking a highly skilled Geologist to join the Mine Engineering & Stability team at a Senior/Director level. Reporting to the MES Lead, you will develop geological models and lead resource estimation within a global mining consultancy.

Based from London or anywhere in the UK and Ireland, you will manage client meetings, site investigations and QA/QC reviews, while supporting studies from PEA to FS. The role requires Chartered Geologist status, strong communication, and willingness to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in geology from a recognised university.
• Resource estimation experience in a consulting environment.
• Registered Chartered Geologist (CGeol) in the UK.
• Familiar with NI 43-101, S-K 1300, JORC and related reports.
• Skills in geostatistics and resources estimation.
• Willing to act as Competent/Qualified Person on public disclosures.
• Knowledge of mining fundamentals, rock mechanics and processing.
• Proficient with MS Office and 3D modelling/database software.
• Experience with scripts/macros.
• Excellent communication with clients and colleagues.
• Willingness to travel for projects.
• Fluent English, strong written and spoken skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine geological models to support resource estimation.
• Estimate mineral resources with precision and accuracy.
• Conduct site investigations and audits to ensure quality and compliance.
• Lead QA/QC reviews on projects.
• Contribute to and review technical reports and studies.
• Define scope for geological mining studies (PEA, PFS, FS).
• Drive business growth by promoting WSP's capabilities and attracting clients.
• Attend client meetings, field reviews, and project oversight.
• Travel across UK/Ireland as required for project work.
• Perform additional duties to support project success.
