Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior/Director Geologist to join the Mine Engineering & Stability team in the UK. You will shape geological models, lead resource estimation, and oversee QA/QC across projects while promoting growth and client engagement.

The role requires Chartered Geologist status, strong communication, and willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland. A supportive MES leadership structure awaits, with opportunities for Chartership and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in geology from a recognised university.
• Resource estimation experience across commodities and deposit types.
• Registered as a Chartered Geologist (CGeol) in the UK or equivalent.
• Familiar with NI 43-101, S-K 1300, JORC, SAMREC, SME Guide, CPRs and related codes.
• Skills in geostatistics and resources estimation.
• Ability to undertake a Competent/Qualified Person role on public disclosure projects.
• Knowledge of mining fundamentals, rock mechanics and mineral processing.
• Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine geological models to support resource estimation.
• Estimate mineral resources with precision and accuracy.
• Lead QA/QC reviews on projects.
• Contribute to and review technical reports and studies.
• Define scope for geological mining studies (PEA, PFS, FS).
• Drive business growth by promoting WSP capabilities and attracting clients.
• Attend client meetings, field reviews and project oversight across locations.
• Perform additional duties to support project success.
