Job summary

CareTech Community Services is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join Laceby House in the UK. You will support young people with daily routines, prepare for school, and plan activities in a warm, homely environment.

You will supervise a team of support workers, maintain care plans, document updates, and contribute to a safe, trusting atmosphere. A UK manual driving licence is essential and DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff in children's residential care.
• Level 3/4 qualification in Children's Residential/Children's Workforce.
• Manual UK driving licence is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to cover shifts, including weekends on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of support workers
• Ensure our children receive the highest level of support
• Support home management team with timely updates
• An average of 8 overnight sleep-ins per month
• Promote individuality NOT a "one size fits all" approach
• Monitoring of care plans and producing reports for the managers
• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and join fun activities like day trips, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects and activities
• Using an electronic care recording system daily to document records accurately
