Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Cannock is seeking a Children's Residential Support Worker for day shifts to support young people aged 3–18 with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will help with daily routines, personal care, meals, activities and sleep routines in a safe home environment.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, a flexible approach to shifts including early starts and alternate weekends, and a commitment to safeguarding and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Background in education, youth work, childcare, healthcare or social care preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to develop and learn with the team.
• Excellent communication, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 3–18 with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Assist with daily routines, school readiness, meals, activities.
• Plan and participate in outings and creative projects.
• Maintain care plans and records.
• Provide emotional support and build trusting relationships.
