Job summary

SGS Care in Leicester is seeking a Senior Residential Care Worker to lead shifts and provide compassionate care in a 4-bed children's home for ages 8–17 with EBD. You will engage with a team to support daily routines, safety, and personal development while maintaining a therapeutic, structured environment.

The role requires a Level 3 in Children’s & Young People’s Workforce, Ofsted Home experience, and a Full UK driving licence. Sleep-ins are part of the role with paid sleep-in rates.

Qualifications

• Experience in Ofsted Registered Children’s Home.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a car.
• Level 3 Children’s & Young People’s Workforce qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and support colleagues in a structured residential setting.
• Build positive relationships with young people to support engagement and wellbeing.
• Provide consistent, therapeutic care within a stable home environment.
• Support day-to-day running of the home and contribute to young people’s confidence, resilience and independence.

📍 Location - Leicester (LE6)

💷 Salary & Package

Annual Salary: £35,640 per annum (including approximately 10 sleep-ins per month)

Salary Breakdown:

• Base Salary: £30,240 per annum

• Sleep-in Payments: Approximately £5,400 per annum (10 sleep-ins per month at £45 each)

Hourly Rate: £15.75 per hour + £5.00 per hour (additional rate where applicable)

Sleep-in Rate: £45 per sleep

Working Hours: 160 hours per month

Employment Type: Permanent
