Inicio Group Ltd is recruiting for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker in Salford. The role involves leading shifts, supporting a team, and ensuring children feel safe and supported in daily routines.

You will oversee medication and records, promote education and wellbeing, and help create a home-like environment for the children. A senior position requires leadership and commitment to safeguarding and development.

Qualifications

• Worked in residential childcare or a similar setting.
• Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People/Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Confident leading a shift and supporting other staff.
• Emotionally resilient, calm in a crisis and motivated to make a difference.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (essential).

• Support daily routines – school runs, meals, activities, emotional support.
• Be a calm and reliable presence during challenging moments.
• Lead shifts, model good practice, and support colleagues on shift.

Job description

Senior Residential Childcare Worker

Location: Salford, M44

• Salary: £36,404 (based on £15.50 per hour and £75 per sleep-in)
• £1,000 welcome bonus (£500 on successful completion of induction, £500 on successful completion of probation)
• Full time 35 hours with sleeps (average of 10 sleeps per month)
• 1 day on, 2 days off – average of 10 working days per month
• Sleep-in paid at £75 per sleep

This is a senior role, ideal for someone with experience in residential care who’s ready to step up, lead by example, and support others to thrive.

What you’ll do:

You’ll be part of a close-knit team helping children feel safe, supported, and optimistic about their future. As a Senior, you’ll also lead shifts and support colleagues.

You’ll:

• You’re confident leading a shift and supporting other staff
• You’re emotionally resilient, calm in a crisis and motivated to make a difference
• You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (essential)
