The Team

United Kingdom & Ireland (UK&I) is the largest business for Deliveroo and is at the forefront of strategic, commercial and operational innovation. Functions include commercial, operations and marketing, and teams in the UK&I partner closely with global functions such as product, technology and consumer to deliver results for our customers. Regional UKI presents one of the biggest growth opportunities available to Deliveroo and we are building a team of commercially savvy, entrepreneurial and ambitious individuals to help us fulfil our potential.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Regional Director, our Regional Managers are core members of the South England & Wales Leadership team and the UKI Extended Leadership Team. You will inspire your team, set the standards and own the development and delivery of the operational plans making a critical contribution to our UKI P&L goals. You will own our success within the broad geography that is South England & Wales.

Specifically, the role includes responsibility for delivering our P&L goals through balancing all 3 sides of our marketplace and delivering our plans in the locations where we want to play to win. The role includes direct accountability for the success of our strategically critical mid-market restaurant portfolio in your region. The Regional Manager typically leads a team of c.8 across City Management, Account Management and Field Sales - ensuring and role modelling high standards in how initiatives are implemented, how policies and procedures are applied, and how business is conducted, measured and reported.

The South West & Wales region covers the whole of our Deliveroo territories in the South West of the UK as well as Wales. It includes the buzzing independent scene in Bristol, the thriving Bournemouth and South Coast, the capital city of Cardiff and cosmopolitan cities like Cheltenham and student cities such as Exeter and Bath.

It’s a big but challenging region for Deliveroo, with real differences between our markets in each city, requiring a true hyperlocal approach and you and your team living and breathing the market place. The role includes independent brands to manage including Oowee, Chicken & Blues and Boston Tea Party.

You will develop the strategy to grow order volume and market share within your region, whilst managing the profitability of your department (you will manage both top and bottom line P&L targets). You will have up to 11 people within your team. Your role will be commercially focused, however you will work with teams including, operations, marketing and product to ensure local success across restaurant, customer and rider metrics. You'll maintain relationships with the top accounts within your region to ensure Deliveroo is continuing to help their businesses grow.

What you'll do

Lead the strategy for markets within your region

Support your team (city managers, account managers, business development managers) to develop the operational plan for Deliveroo in your region

Set and achieve regional targets

Coordinating execution for your operational plans (you'll work with our rider operations and marketing teams)

Be the face of Deliveroo to top restaurant partners - establishing relationships with our top restaurants

Lead important negotiations for new restaurant partners within your region

Collaborate with our restaurant and rider operations teams to improve efficiency and improve customer outcomes

Work with your local marketing team to accelerate revenue growth

Requirements

Proven experience in commercially focussed roles

Highly analytical and comfortable with understanding multiple metrics in real-time.

Mix of both strategy and execution experience

Comfortable handling negotiations with business owners or C-suite operators

Relationship-building and communication skills whether face-to-face, through phone or email

You will be in the field often which will require travel (2-3 days per week)

Previous general management experience, or experience running your own business would be desirableion to complete

Our mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders. We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it.

We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. Benefits differ by country, but we offer many benefits in areas including healthcare, well-being, parental leave, pensions, and generous annual leave allowances, including time off to support a charitable cause of your choice. Benefits are country-specific, please ask your recruiter for more information.

Diversity

At Deliveroo, we believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing industry.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process. We recognise that some candidates may require adjustments to apply for a position or fairly participate in the interview process. If you require any adjustments, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will make every effort to provide the necessary adjustments to ensure you have an equitable opportunity to succeed.
