Job Description:

nDreams Studio Elevation is redefining VR boundaries. We are seeking an exceptionally talented Cinematic Lead to help us explore, create, and deliver innovative software and VR hardware experiences. With our first title nearing release and a second in early planning, it's an exciting time to join our fully remote, VR-first studio.

As the Cinematic Lead, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality cinematic sequences for immersive first-person VR games.

The rundown:

• 12-month Fixed Term Contract
• Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
• Remote within the UK
• Competitive salary based on experience

Key responsibilities:

• Own the creation of visually striking cinematic sequences.
• Lead visual storytelling across all in-game cinematics, defining language and tone.
• Collaborate with Directors, Writers, and Art Leads to translate narrative into visual sequences.
• Work with design and Narrative teams to ensure sequences are interactive and responsive.
• Direct scene composition, lighting, and VFX within Unreal Engine.
• Coordinate with mocap and animation teams for performance fidelity.
• Mentor cinematic artists and animators, setting standards for storytelling and execution.
• Maintain consistency in mood, framing, and pacing aligned with game direction.

Requirements:

• Experience in creating AAA cinematic content.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, lighting, and Sequencer.
• Leadership skills in nurturing talent and building vision.
• Experience in Performance Capture and Cinematography.
• Strong understanding of cinematic grammar and editing.
• Knowledge of storytelling, scriptwriting, and narrative devices.
• Skill in composing and lighting complex scenes with real-time transitions.

Nice to haves:

• VR animation experience.
• Passion for VR and emerging tech.
• Background in film direction or cinematography.
• Experience lighting scenes for VR or mobile platforms.
