Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Glasgow or Edinburgh Park to shape Scotland's electrical grid. The role focuses on Real Time Systems within Advanced Energy Management with involvement in WAMS, REPOWER and orchestration platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical, electronic, or telecoms engineering or equivalent.
• HND/HNC with 5+ years in engineering or project management within utilities is acceptable.
• Experience with Smart Grid or real-time control systems is essential.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for AEMS projects and set technical standards.
• Produce comprehensive solution designs balancing technical and operational needs.
• Collaborate with Network Planning, SPT, SPD and SPM to meet technical requirements.
• Engage with Cybersecurity to maintain security architecture alignment and standards.
• Support project delivery with clear stakeholder communication and risk management.
