Job summary
SP Energy Networks in Scotland seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for Real Time Systems to lead technical standards within the AEMS team, shaping electricity system evolution in Glasgow or Edinburgh Park. You’ll drive solution design, risk and cost considerations, and work across networks planning and control teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications
- Degree in electrical/electronic/telecommunications engineering or equivalent experience.
- Smart Grid or real‑time control system development experience.
- Knowledge of ADMS/SCADA and power systems engineering.
Responsibilities
- Act as technical authority for AEMS projects and define technical standards.
- Produce comprehensive solution designs balancing technical excellence with operations.
- Collaborate with Network Planning, SPT, SPD, and SPM to meet technical and operational needs.
