Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Real Time Systems based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will act as technical authority for AEMS projects, delivering robust real-time solutions that meet operational needs.

You will design comprehensive solutions, work with Cybersecurity and other teams, engage suppliers, and contribute to business case development, with a strong focus on compliant architecture and delivery within budget.

Qualifications

Degree in electrical, electronic, or telecommunication engineering or equivalent experience.
HND/HNC with at least five years post-training experience in engineering or project management within a utility business.

Responsibilities

Act as technical authority for AEMS projects and define technical standards.
Produce comprehensive solution designs balancing technical excellence with operational needs.
Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure solutions meet technical and operational requirements.
Engage with Cybersecurity to maintain security architecture compliance and work with Smart Grid Operations.
Assist with systems design activities, ensuring compliance with Group standards and streamlined processes.
Inform business case development with costs, benefits, and delivery approaches for system development.
