Job summary

ScottishPower is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Real Time Systems within the AEMS team in Scotland. The role focuses on defining technical standards and delivering architectures for Smart Grid applications as we move toward DSO/TSO operations and renewables integration.

You will collaborate across Planning, Regulation, Cybersecurity and Operations, ensuring designs meet technical and operational needs while managing supplier relationships and travel requirements with a valid driving

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic/telecommunications engineering or HND/HNC with 5+ years in engineering or project management within utilities.
• Experience with Smart Grid applications or real-time control system development.
• Knowledge of ADMS/SCADA technologies or Power Systems Engineering; ability to balance technical and commercial considerations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for AEMS projects, define standards and validate solutions.
• Collaborate with networks, cybersecurity and operations teams to ensure compliant, fully operable designs.
• Support systems design activities and develop business cases with cost/benefit analysis for system refresh initiatives.
• Manage supplier relationships and oversee on-time, on-budget delivery.
