Job summary

SP Energy Networks is recruiting a Senior Project Manager to lead Real Time Control and ADMS projects from Edinburgh/Glasgow. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage charters, roadmaps and budgets up to £5m, and deliver critical energy management systems in a regulated environment.

You will work within the Strategy & Development team, mentoring others, preparing PMO reports, and negotiating contracts with third‑party suppliers. PRINCE2/APM/SCRUM Master qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Real-Time Control Systems experience in ICT environments.
• Experience with ADMS/Real-Time applications.
• Budget management for multi-million-pound projects up to £5m.
• Stakeholder and contract management in complex programmes.
• Strong communication and English language skills.
• HND or degree with project/programme qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technical projects from inception through to deployment.
• Create project charters, roadmaps, and manage project plans with technical specialists.
• Guide and motivate internal and external teams; maintain stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee budgets up to £5m using project systems and generate PMO reports.
• Prepare investment dossiers and participate in procurement exercises.
• Develop and negotiate project contracts with third-party suppliers.
• Develop contingency plans and manage change control; ensure quality strategies.
• Coordinate installation of hardware, software, and subsystems.
• Run retrospectives to capture lessons and drive improvements.
• Potentially deputise for AEMS Manager and help steer departmental strategy.
