Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to advance the Tesco Digital Design System (DDS) for React Native. You’ll build reusable components, ensure accessibility, and maintain high-quality APIs used across Tesco’s digital estate.

You’ll work with design, accessibility, product engineering, and platform peers to align across iOS, Android, React Native, and Web, while shaping modern design-to-development workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience with React Native platform engineering and component design.
• Prior experience with design systems is a plus but not required.
• Good collaboration with design, accessibility, product engineering and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve Tesco DDS platform components for React Native with clear APIs, tests, accessibility, and release discipline.
• Translate DDS design intent and tokens into production-ready React Native implementations.
• Improve developer experience through documentation, onboarding, examples, and migration tooling.
• Collaborate with design, accessibility, product engineering and platform peers to align across iOS, Android, React Native and Web.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools to improve quality, speed, and consistency where appropriate.
• Contribute to DDS documentation and component metadata with clear constraints and examples.
• Lead with architectural judgment, code review, mentoring, and high-quality communication.
