Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Rail Systems Engineer to join our Rail Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team in the UK. You will work on rail projects across our offices, focusing on safety assurance and system engineering leadership.

The role is based in a hybrid work model with opportunities to collaborate across major rail clients and authorities. You will guide technical teams, develop system definitions, and ensure high-quality outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience of railway systems safety and assurance including system safety and interoperability.
• Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver: Develop system engineering plans and the development of system definitions, technical requirements and system architectures.
• Oversee: Manage technical requirements using DOORS, ComplyPro and related tools; develop systems engineering processes.
• Provide Expertise: Evaluate interrelationships of system requirements and design; develop scope of works with clients; act as senior technical resource.
• Ensure Quality: Provide input to studies and design; develop procedures for high quality cost-effective work.
• Collaborate: Participate in multi-disciplinary reviews; develop cost estimates; perform quality control of design calculations; prepare technical specifications.
