Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Senior Rail Safety Consultant to join our Safety, Risk & Reliability practice in the UK. You will lead safety assurance activities across rail projects, applying risk assessment and system safety engineering to complex, safety-critical systems.

You will work with clients, stakeholders, and ISA/AsBo bodies, delivering Safety Cases, safety justifications, and ensuring compliance with UK standards (ROGS, CSM-RA, EN 50126 etc.).

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with a recognized institution.
• Proven rail safety engineering experience in the UK rail sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK rail regulations and standards (ROGS, CSM-RA, NTSNs/TSIs, EN 50126, EN 50129, EN 50716).

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of rail safety assurance activities, on time, to cost and quality.
• Perform system safety engineering and risk assessments (HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA, FTA).
• Develop and review Safety Cases, Safety Justifications, and Safety Management Systems.
• Chair safety workshops with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support projects across the full rail lifecycle (design, integration, testing, operations).
• Interface with ISA/AsBo and respond to findings.
