Job summary

South West Water Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management of high-volume R&M and other contracts. You will oversee NEC3/NEC4 governance, manage compensation events, variations, and final accounts, and mentor a team of surveyors across a £50m annual spend portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial and contract management.
• NEC3/NEC4 contract administration experience.
• Forecasting, budgeting, and cost control experience.
• Proven leadership and people development.
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and financial management of operational contracts.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts in line with governance.
• Manage compensation events, variations, valuations, and final accounts.
• Certify and process contractor payment applications.
• Negotiate to achieve favourable outcomes while maintaining supplier relations.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
• Support tender evaluations and contract awards.
• Improve commercial processes, controls, and reporting.
• Forecasting, budgeting, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Oversee contracts with £50m annual spend across budgets.
• Lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors.
• Foster collaboration with internal and supply chain stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on contract administration and dispute avoidance.
