Job summary

Kier Group, delivering the STEP Programme at West Burton, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial objectives, cost control and value for money across complex infrastructure packages. You will manage procurement, subcontracts, and performance reporting while upholding JV governance and client relationships.

In this role you will collaborate with project teams, oversee risk and change control, and ensure robust commercial governance and cash performance through proactive contract

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence or complex construction projects.
• Experience managing complex subcontract procurement and commercial package management.
• Thorough understanding of the NEC suite of contracts.
• Strong cost planning, forecasting and reporting capability with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage risk, change and contractual entitlement in a structured, auditable way.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of commercial objectives across the STEP Programme, including profitability targets and cash performance.
• Provide commercial guidance to project teams and prepare cost forecasts and performance reports.
• Administer NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and contractual notices.
• Manage subcontractors from procurement through final account, fostering collaborative relationships.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities for assigned packages.
