Job summary

Kier Nuvia Joint Venture (KNJV) is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor for the STEP Programme based at West Burton with hybrid working options. You will deliver commercial management, ensure value for money, and drive profitability across the programme.

The role requires extensive experience on major infrastructure or energy projects, with strong cost forecasting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. You will mentor junior staff and sustain long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence or complex construction projects.
• Thorough understanding of NEC contracts and their application on programmes.
• Strong cost planning, forecasting and reporting capabilities; excellent negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of commercial objectives, profitability targets and cash performance across the programme.
• Provide commercial guidance to project teams and develop cost forecasts and performance reports.
• Administer NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and contractual notices.
• Manage subcontractors from procurement through final account, fostering collaboration.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities and mentor junior staff.

Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Kier Nuvia Joint Venture (KNJV) as part of the STEP Programme. In this pivotal role, you will:

• Deliver package proposals and ensure exceptional value for money management.
• Maximise profitability and improve cash flow while managing commercial risks.
• Support our long-term presence at STEP through strong client relationships and outstanding service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in achieving our commercial objectives. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Supporting the delivery of commercial objectives, profitability targets, and cash performance across the programme.
• Providing commercial advice to project teams and developing detailed cost forecasts and performance reports.
• Administering NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings, and contractual notices.
• Managing subcontractors from procurement through to final account, fostering collaborative relationships throughout.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, while mentoring junior team members.
