Job summary

Kier is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the KNJV within the STEP programme at West Burton. You will deliver commercial leadership, manage cost forecasts and ensure value for money on complex projects.

You will administer NEC4 contracts, manage subcontractors, and mentor junior staff while safeguarding profitability and cash flow. The role offers a flexible approach to hours within a demanding infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence, or complex construction projects.
• Experience in managing complex subcontract procurement and commercial package management.
• Thorough understanding of the NEC suite of contracts.
• Strong cost planning, forecasting, and reporting skills with negotiation ability.
• Ability to think strategically, manage risk, and build stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of commercial objectives, profitability targets, and cash performance across the programme.
• Provide commercial advice to project teams and develop detailed cost forecasts and performance reports.
• Administer NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings, and contractual notices.
• Manage subcontractors from procurement through to final account, fostering collaborative relationships throughout.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, while mentoring junior team members.
