Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group Limited is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Loughborough to join a steel fabrication specialist on a full-time, permanent basis. You will support Contract Managers with control of costs and commercial governance to maximise contract value.

The role requires NEC, JCT forms, strong Excel and MS Project skills, and proven leadership of a team. Salary £60,000–£65,000 per annum, 39 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Excellent financial, numerical and commercial awareness.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good leadership and time management abilities.
• Experience leading a project or small team within construction.
• Proficient use of MS Excel and project scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of steelwork and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out contract reviews and advise on risk and opportunities.
• Negotiate contract terms to mitigate commercial risk.
• Manage all costs, reporting and valuation on contracts including variations.
• Prepare and monitor client accounts in conjunction with the Contracts Manager.
• Conduct measurements and surveying duties on site.
• Review contract performance relative to estimates and produce end-of-project reports.
• Maintain up-to-date commercial data on internal IT systems.
• Agree final accounts with Contracts Manager and negotiate payments.
