Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment Limited is helping a well-established residential developer recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team based from either Kings Hill or Crawley.

You will manage the commercial performance of residential developments, overseeing timber frame, traditional build and groundworks packages, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the required profitability targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential development is essential.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial delivery of residential developments from pre-construction through to final account.
• Overseeing timber frame, traditional build and groundworks packages.
• Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, tender enquiries, analysis and appointments.
• Preparing subcontract orders and managing subcontractor agreements.
• Assessing subcontractor applications for payment and managing valuations.
• Managing variations, change control and additional works.
• Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates.
• Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and the wider commercial team.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, resolving commercial queries and negotiating final accounts.
